Fiberglass woven roving cloth, or square cloth, is a common FRP fishing boat material. It’s used to reinforce the boats. They use it in large quantities.
Manufacturers make fiberglass woven roving cloth by weaving many fine yarn strands in different methods in the warp and weft directions. It has a thick layer and strong impact resistance. But its interlayer adhesion is weak, and its strength in the ±45° direction is poor. The coarse yarns are cross-woven. This causes wavy undulations. So it has a large extension under force and a high resin content. Thus, its strength decreases as the degree of undulation increases.
Fiberglass woven roving cloth is mainly for hand lay-up molding of fiberglass plastics.
