Phenolic gland packing is a braided compression packing manufactured from fibers impregnated with phenolic resin. It is selected for industrial sealing applications where excellent abrasion resistance, oil and solvent resistance, and good mechanical strength are important requirements.
Phenolic resin impregnation provides a hard-wearing, durable packing surface that withstands contact with oils, solvents and many industrial fluids. Depending on the base fiber and construction, phenolic packing can be used in selected rotary shaft and reciprocating rod applications.
