Packing length = (Shaft diameter d + Packing width) × 1.07 × 3.14.
Cross-Sectional Area of Graphite Packing
To find the cross-sectional size of the packing, use this formula:
Cross-sectional area of packing = (Diameter of stuffing box – Diameter of valve stem) / 2.
