Product Overview
High Pressure Aramid Gland Packing Rings are manufactured from premium aramid fiber yarns (Kevlar®/Twaron® grade) and impregnated with PTFE dispersion and high-temperature lubricant. The rings are pre-formed and precision braided to provide exceptional mechanical strength, outstanding pressure resistance, and reliable sealing under demanding operating conditions. Designed as a drop-in replacement for conventional packing in pumps, valves, and rotating equipment where high pressure and abrasive media are present.

Why Choose Our Aramid Packing Rings?
1. Superior Aramid Fiber Strength
Aramid fibers provide tensile strength several times higher than steel wire of equivalent weight, ensuring the packing maintains its integrity under extreme mechanical loads and high-pressure pulsation.
2. Pre-Formed Ring Design
Each ring is accurately pre-compressed and shaped to match the stuffing box dimensions, minimizing installation errors and delivering uniform radial compression for leak-free performance from the first cycle.
3. PTFE & Lubricant Impregnation
The fibers are fully saturated with PTFE dispersion and a high-temperature inert lubricant. This reduces the coefficient of friction, dissipates heat, and prevents shaft scoring, even in high-speed applications.
4. Excellent Extrusion Resistance
The dense braided structure combined with aramid fiber’s high modulus effectively resists extrusion through clearances, making it suitable for high-pressure differentials.
5. Wide Chemical Compatibility
With a pH range of 2–12, the packing is compatible with most industrial fluids, including oils, solvents, weak acids, alkalis, and hydrocarbons.
6. Custom Engineering Support
We offer free technical consultation to help you select the correct ring size, cross-section, and lubricant system. Special dimensions and non-standard materials (e.g., graphite-coated aramid) are available upon request.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between aramid packing and acrylic fiber packing?
A: Aramid fiber (Kevlar®/Twaron®) offers significantly higher tensile strength, better abrasion resistance, and a wider temperature range than acrylic fiber. It is recommended for high-pressure, high-speed, or abrasive applications, while acrylic is more cost-effective for general-purpose sealing.
Q: Can you produce rings in exact stuffing box dimensions?
A: Yes. We manufacture rings to your specified inside diameter (ID) and cross-section. Please provide the shaft diameter, stuffing box bore, and depth so we can recommend the correct ring size. We can also supply cut-to-length spool packing if you prefer to make your own rings.
Q: Do you offer graphite-impregnated aramid rings?
A: Yes, we can impregnate the aramid fiber with graphite, PTFE, silicone oil, or a combination. Graphite impregnation improves thermal conductivity and reduces friction further, making it suitable for high-temperature and dry-running conditions.
Q: What is the maximum pressure these rings can handle?
A: In rotary service, the packing can handle up to 40 bar (4.0 MPa). In static or valve applications, it can withstand up to 100 bar (10.0 MPa). For pressures beyond these limits, we recommend our reinforced composite packing rings—please contact our engineers for a recommendation.
Q: Are these rings suitable for potable water or food-grade applications?
A: Standard aramid packing is not food-grade certified. However, we can supply special food-grade lubricants and PTFE-only impregnation for applications involving indirect food contact. Please specify your requirements when requesting a quote.
