Corrugated Flexible Graphite Tape

Corrugated flexible graphite tape is made from high-purity expanded graphite with a corrugated structure. It provides excellent conformability, high temperature and chemical resistance. Ideal for sealing irregular flanges, valve glands and heat exchanger applications. Available with or without adhesive backing.

Corrugated flexible graphite tape is for sticking to metal-toothed or wavy gaskets. Manufacturers make corrugated flexible graphite tape from graphite rolls. High-precision lathes cut the rolls into strips. Then, special pattern rollers press the strips into a corrugated shape. It is more precise than traditional graphite cutting. It damages the graphite rolls less. The cutting edges are smooth and burr-free.

Applications:

Graphite corrugated tape is for metal gaskets with toothed or wavy edges. It is a surface adhesive. When used as packing for a stuffing box, it can be directly wound around the shafts of pumps and valves. After reaching a certain size, a gland can compact it. It is very convenient for small-diameter valves and emergency repairs. It eliminates the need for various-sized packing spare parts. Media and situations where conventional materials are hard to adapt use it. These include hot water, high-temp, and high-pressure pumps and valves. Also, hydrogen, ammonia water, and organic solutions.
